Amalgam Biotech , a Pune based global Biotechnology company collaborates with Pune Municipal Corporation for betterment of sanitation & hygiene at  Public Toilets, Bio Toilets & urinals in the densely populated areas of Pune under the Campaign name - #Toilet_Saaf_Toh_Corona_Khalaas. Due to  Covid-19 pandemic, many slums & thickly populated areas in Pune are facing problem of sanitation, lack of man-power, proper knowledge of sanitation , risk of hygiene etc. Residents have to deal with the problem of chocking of sewage line , foul smell, over loading of septic tank and flow  of pathogen laden untreated water from overflow sump to public sewer. Amalgam Biotech, A division of Amalgam Engineering have been honored with the Aqua Foundations Excellence Award 2017 under the category of Environmentally sound management of toxic chemicals Industrial sector. The award was presented at a ceremony held during an International conference, XI World Aqua Congress 2017 at New Delhi (India Habitat Center) on November 9. The “Aqua Excellence Awards” are the highest awards given by Aqua Foundation to its members, stakeholders and contributors in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the field of water, environment, energy, earth sciences, atmospheric sciences, planetary sciences, pollution control and sustainability solution.
