BactaServe Sugar - Bioculture for Sugar Industry Wastewater Treatment

BactaServe Sugar is a specialised bioculture formulated for wastewater generated in sugar mills and sugar processing units. It contains acclimatised bacteria capable of degrading glucose, sucrose, cellulose and starch found in high strength sugar industry effluent. The formulation enhances biodegradation, increases MLSS activity and supports stable operation in aerobic biological treatment systems.

BactaServe Bioculture Sugar product pouch by Amalgam, orange and black packaging designed for sugar industry wastewater treatment applications.

BactaServe Sugar

Pack Size -1Kg

Sugar mill wastewater contains high organic load and complex carbohydrates that demand strong biological activity. BactaServe Sugar is designed with microbial species adapted to sugar unit processes such as washing, juice extraction, purification, evaporation, syrup processing and crystallisation. The formulation supports faster breakdown of sugar compounds and helps the ETP achieve consistent BOD and COD reduction.

Key Features

  • Acclimatised microbes suited for sugar industry wastewater

  • Effective on glucose, sucrose, cellulose and starch

  • Supports major sugar processes and effluent characteristics

  • Enhances biological degradation efficiency

  • Improves MLSS performance in aerobic systems

  • Suitable for high organic load fluctuations

Benefits of BactaServe Sugar

  • Faster degradation of sugar-based organic waste

  • Improved biological stability under variable load

  • Better BOD and COD reduction

  • Reduced sludge buildup

  • Supports healthy MLSS growth

  • Helps achieve consistent treated water quality

Suitable Applications

BactaServe Sugar is suitable for aerobic biological systems such as:

  • ASP activated sludge process

  • Extended aeration systems

  • SBR sequencing batch reactors

  • MBBR moving bed biofilm reactors

  • MBR membrane bioreactors

  • RBC rotating biological contactors

How BactaServe Sugar Works

The microbes in the formulation release enzymes that break down high concentrations of glucose, sucrose, starch and cellulose. As these compounds convert into simpler molecules, the biological system becomes more efficient, oxygen uptake improves and the overall degradation rate increases. This results in a more stable ETP with improved performance.

Dosage and Activation

Mixing Instructions
