Microbial Solution for Textile Wastewater Treatment

BactaServe Textile is a specially developed microbial solution by Amalgam Biotech to improve the treatment of wastewater generated from textile processing units.

Textile wastewater contains high color, chemicals, dyes, sizing agents, and organic load. BactaServe Textile helps reduce COD and BOD, improves biological treatment efficiency, controls odor, and stabilizes treatment plant performance.

Amalgam Biotech is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company and supplies BactaServe products across India and globally.

Treatment Challenges It Resolves

BactaServe Aerobic is applied in aerobic wastewater treatment systems experiencing biological instability, hydraulic variation, or reduced treatment efficiency.

  • Inconsistent organic removal performance

  • Sludge bulking and poor settling

  • Foaming in aeration tanks

  • Odor formation from incomplete oxidation

  • Biomass instability

  • Shock load or restart conditions

Compatible Treatment Systems

BactaServe Aerobic is suitable for integration into existing aerobic treatment configurations including:

  • Sewage Treatment Plants (STP)

  • Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP)

  • Activated Sludge Process systems

  • Sequential Batch Reactors (SBR)

  • Moving Bed Biofilm Reactors (MBBR)

  • Membrane Bioreactors (MBR)

  • Extended aeration systems

Implementation does not require modification of aeration capacity, clarifiers, or hydraulic retention time.

How it Works

When BactaServe Aerobic is added to the aeration tank, the bacteria quickly adjust to the wastewater conditions. With sufficient dissolved oxygen, these bacteria begin consuming organic pollutants present in the wastewater. As microbial populations increase, complex organic matter is converted into stable end products such as carbon dioxide, water, and biologically stable sludge. This improves biological activity, strengthens sludge formation, and improves settling in the clarifier. Over time, the treatment system becomes more stable, odor reduces, and treated water quality improves consistently.

Dosage and Application

The required quantity depends on wastewater volume, organic load, and plant operating conditions.

Mix 1 kg of BactaServe Aerobic in 20 litres of clean feed water. For higher quantities, maintain the same ratio (2 kg in 40 litres and proportionally higher as required). Mix thoroughly before dosing.

  • Higher dosage during startup, shock load, or recovery phase

  • Maintenance dosage for steady state operation

  • Ensure adequate aeration during application

  • Avoid simultaneous use of chlorine or strong biocides

*Actual dosage varies based on influent characteristics and reactor configuration. Plant-specific recommendations are provided by Amalgam Biotech.

Technical Performance Evidence and Field Validation

BactaServe Textile bioculture has been applied in textile wastewater treatment systems where high COD, colour, odour, surfactants, and fluctuating loads from dyeing and washing operations create biological instability. Field applications demonstrate reliable organic load reduction, colour and odour control, and stable biomass development.
