How does the AmerAir Chemical Scrubbing System Work?

AmerAir® Wet Scrubbers use a reliable multi-stage absorption process to remove pollutants from contaminated air streams.

1. Ventilation & Extraction

A heavy-duty exhaust fan collects contaminated air from sources such as sewage wet wells, screen channels, and industrial process vents, directing it into the scrubber system.

2. Multi-Stage Chemical Contact

The air enters the bottom of the scrubber housing and moves upward through a specialised packing bed. At the same time, an automated recirculation pump sprays a targeted scrubbing liquid containing specific chemical reagents downward from the top.

3. Gas Dissolution & Reaction

As the dirty air and chemical spray meet inside the packing media, the odorous gases instantly dissolve into the liquid phase and react with the chemical agents, neutralising the pollution. Depending on your site's target requirements, this treatment can be split into 1, 2, or 3 separate chemical stages to achieve a higher removal efficiency

4. Clean Air Discharge

The washed air passes through a high-efficiency Chevron-type mist eliminator at the top of the tower to drop out any remaining liquid droplets, discharging perfectly clean air safely into the atmosphere.
